{"id":58,"date":"2006-03-06T21:18:00","date_gmt":"2006-03-07T02:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.powrsurg.com\/blog\/?p=58"},"modified":"2006-03-06T21:18:00","modified_gmt":"2006-03-07T02:18:00","slug":"transformers-movie-greenlighted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.powrsurg.com\/blog\/2006\/03\/06\/transformers-movie-greenlighted\/","title":{"rendered":"Transformers Movie Greenlighted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Producer Don Murphy announced that the announced <a href=\"http:\/\/www.d13satellite.com\/donmurphy\/showthread.php?s=ef26fbe0d5d20faf6d4a314a582854b2&#038;threadid=8777\">Transformers Live Action Movie has officially been given the green light<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0006613\/\">Don Murphy<\/a> has worked with translating comic book characters (Transformers had a comic before the cartoon or the action figures came out) into movies, having worked on Alan Moore&#8217;s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0120681\/\">From Hell<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0311429\/\">The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (LXG)<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know how I feel about that. The movie version of <em>From Hell<\/em> wasn&#8217;t very close to the comic book one, and the movie version of LXG wasn&#8217;t well received from what I heard (I never saw it). I know that Transformers has had a plethora of continuities, so the movie having its own continuity doesn&#8217;t bother me that much. Still, most people are going to want to see something like the first show. That said, a <strong>live action Transformers movie?<\/strong> That just seems so weird.
