Brand building yourself through social media has become a critical skill that is necessary for individuals in business. Blogging and being on the various social networks is not enough. You need to unify your accounts to make sure your message stays on brand.
Brand Building Yourself: Google+
Google+ is your focal point. It is necessary to tie everything together. By using authorship markup on your blog you will connect your blog to you will enhance your visibility on search engine result pages (SERP). It will add the following information to your result:
- Your Google+ profile picture.
- How many users have placed you in a circle. (i.e. how many people are following you on Google+)
- A link to your other blog posts.
- A link to your Google+ page.
This adds credibility to your brand and can boost traffic to your posts. The SEO benefit alone is worth the investment time in participating in Google’s social network.
Google+ also allows you to connect your profiles to other social networks. Connecting these accounts will have an effect on searches. Google pulls relevant content from your accounts that you or your friends share the most. Sending these additional signals will expand your influence across your connections on social media networks.

Klout will not show how the score is calculated. They will not say the importance of each network. I believe I have compiled a list that indicates the order of importance for actions across a network. The general rule is that direct engagement is more influential than casual sharing or number of connections you have made.
Klout has recently introduced moments to your dashboard. Moments highlight the most engagement you have received. The better the moment indicates the more success your brand building campaign.
